With the exception of single family homes, the big banks classify most properties at Snowshoe as a “Condotel”. Funny word, but not so funny when you try to get a loan from your local lender. The Condotel classification means that the loan is considered “non-warrantable” and cannot be sold on the secondary mortgage market.

Unfortunately, we see it all too often that lenders will tell clients that they can do the loan, only to have it fall apart during the underwriting process. We highly recommend working with a local bank that specializes in commercial loans here at Snowshoe.
